Melba has served as the executive transition career coach for Special Operators Transition Foundation (SOTF.org) since inception in 2014, and has personally worked with more than 999 SOF Veterans in their transitions “from the battlefield to the boardroom.”

As an executive coach, Melba helps clients improve performance by developing masterful communication skills and embracing the qualities of a courageous and caring leader. For the past eight years Melba has been training and collaborating with June Gunter, CEO of TeachingHorse, the globally recognized leader in corporate equine-assisted leadership development firms. She became TeachingHorse certified and now serves as the East Coast Hub Leader and Channel Partner Manager for UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School for TeachingHorse, delivering The Diamond Model of Shared Leadership to executive teams.

In 2017 Melba completed extensive certification training in Conversational Intelligence. She is one among an elite group of graduates personally mentored by C-IQ creator Judith E. Glaser before she passed in 2018, formerly CEO of Benchmark Communications, Inc., and Chairman of the CreatingWe Institute. C-IQ’s science-based methodology, whose innovative blend of neuroscience and coaching transforms corporate cultures through conversation. In 2016 Melba became a Certified Fascinate Advisor. The Fascinate system was developed by world-class branding leader, Sally Hogshead. Melba applies Fascination to help people to understand their unique personality differences and advantages and how to communicate their highest value.

In 2015 Melba completed  her first equine facilitated coaching certification, a three year journey with Equine Alchemy, led by Lisa Murrell, as well as other subject matter experts in the holistic horse fields. Melba works with clients with the horses as coaching partners to help professionals learn about their executive leadership presence, how to use all three power centers (head, heart, gut).
